Bob's occassional thoughts

I think it goes without saying that most politicians couldn't run a corner shop, and therefore it is no surprise that they can't run the country, but what has happened to the visionary men and women who moulded this country after the last war. We introduced the NHS in 1948 when the country was in a much worse condition than it is now. I travel and work quite a lot in third world countries where the word socialist is deemed evil when in fact it is an extension of true religious values, don't worry I'm not going to give a lecture, I have beliefs but none that take me to corporate places of worship. We need to change what is happening here and I for one would welcome suggestions of a new way forward. We need to demonstrate and show this government that we the people, the people with the real power if we choose to use it have had enough. What has happened with the bail out of the banks is the biggest financial scam in history and what a price we are paying. We need to act now for change, but politicians don't listen, because our impact is too weak! Maybe a national strike during the Olympics would be a start. I hate that we are paying for the bail out with unmanageable levels of tax that is slowly ruining most working people and for what. The potential loss of the NHS, less well funded education, and higher crime rates. Please send me your comments about good ways forward. I want my taxes to go towards the NHS, BBC, Schools, Police etc, because that is what they are for, NOT going to war. I'll be back soon.
